This is for Inspiration Challenge 429. Our inspiration source was the amazing work of Salley Mavor of Wee Folk Studio. What a wonderful inspiration this was, and such a perfect reflection of Polly, our guest challenge hostess. I can really see why you so love this artist's work, Pol; your own has the same kind of vibrancy and charm.
I am uploading this before looking at any of the other cards in the gallery, but I'm betting I'm not the only one who chose Birds of Beebe Woods. I knew I wanted to make a card based on it the moment I saw it and I knew it would be a very literal interpretation.
I don't love this photo of my card. It's hard to see the embossed pattern on the paper behind the birds and vines, and the vines are cut from a metallic paper that has a nice sheen, which is completely lost. Ah, well. It's the best I could do. I really need to spend some time rethinking my photo set-up. Right now, though, I just want to clean up my studio and take a nap. This is my third upload in four days. I think that's a record for me.
Thanks to our challenge hostesses, and especially to Polly for introducing me to the fabulous Salley Mavor.
TFL!!!

I love your take on that inspiration piece and the vibrant frame you created for it! Those die cut birds are awesome and so is the vine you used for them. The embossing comes through beautifully! Kudos to you for doing so many cards in such a short time, a skill I have not yet mastered!

Robin this is magical! I knew right away which piece you took inspiration from. I love the turquoise color on the bg, and thank you for pointing out the embossing..it adds even more wonder to the white floral swirls. I like your use of non traditional colors for the birds..artistic license and all ;) and the dotted frame gives this vintage beauty a modern edge. LOVE it!!! Thanks for playing and all your kind words.

I love the colorful birds flying over that beautiful die cut of flowers and foliage! Great embossed panel too! Your card has me thinking spring and the birds are heading back home

Lovely bird card! I really like the way you 'tiled' them so they fit together so nicely! The white die cut and the embossed background really holds them together too. Your card reminds me a bit of a postage stamp because of the dotted edge. Great interpretation!

Love your swallows and hummingbirds, Robin. Some day I hope to see a hummer in real life. I really like the way you've laid them over the white diecut layer - and yep, I can see the embossing in the blue too. All that really captures the rich texture of your inspiration.
