I am in love with fiber artist Salley Mavor's creations!! I have two of her books and I drool over the amazing needlework and artistry that goes into every detail. I chose her creation called Rabbitat seen here http://weefolkstudio.com/2014/02/01/...eaway-winners/ for inspiration. I wanted to do a mixed media piece. I began by water coloring the bunnies and chick. After that I went wild with felt and embroidery. I was so inspired by Salley's stitching that I couldn't stop! I doodled in some flowers and decided to make it look like it was really a tiny forest home by adding the moss on the side of the canvas. I hope you like it!

Polly, your canvas is adorable and I can't begin to imagine the hours of wok that you put into it. You SO captured the feeling of Salley's incredible work and yours is truly incredible TOO! A little masterpiece.

Oh WOW Polly!!! This is so neat and so unique to me. I think your work is fabulous and you picked a wonderful inspiration site. I love the raised areas and the felt. It surely looks like something I would want to touch. I love the outer layer of grass framed around your piece. Thanks for sharing this with us.

The needlework was amazing, and I'm so happy to see some on your card, Polly! And the moss - what a wonderful frame for this little scene which so perfectly captures the inspiration.
