This is my submission to today's CAS challenge to use scallops, and today's TLC to go back to an old technique, and stamp on Craft paper and then watercolor the image. I tried 2 different ways to do this as it's been a LONG time since I tried it last! I stamped my leaves with White Craft Ink and let dry, then watercolored with inks. For the flower, I embossed in white, then used acrylic white paint, let dry and watercolored over that. The first way is much softer and in many ways prettier, but in the photo, it does not show up at all because the colors came out much richer on the second method, using a few coats to add shading.
I never know how much is too much for CAS... the you always read "it's about the design".... and not the embellishments, so there are NO embellishments on this, and lots of unstamped uncluttered areas, so I hope this qualifies! I am truly trying to get to where I can do CAS and actually like it when I'm done!
Thanks for looking and leaving me a comment! Have a great day!

Everyone's idea of CAS is different. I think this qualifies under all but the most strict of definitions. It's really an eye-catching an beautiful card. The flower really pops.

Oh this technique looks wonderful! Thanks so much for describing what you did on your card in detail. I'm going to have to try this soon. As for your card, WOW is all I can say. It is gorgeous! That single blossom makes a huge impact. I love it!

You're not alone when it comes to CAS! I have similar problems... Your floral is beautiful; very rich in color and I think this is a lovely clean and simple design!! TFS

Love this pretty card. I wish whoever dreamed up the idea of CAS would at least tell us how many layers should be involved on those things. I am with you on never knowing to what extent the definition should go.
