This morning I picked out a lovely picture in browns and blues with weathered wood and bookmarked it. But as I did some colour-hopping while making soup for lunch, I came across giraffe tones, and decided it would be absolutely perfect to make a thank-you card for a friend who included me in on a trip to the zoo with her family yesterday.
Especially since she and I missed out altogether on the hippos because we spent too long looking at the giraffes and zebras, LOL.
I used the photo for inspiration but also kept as close as I could to the colour palette, apart from adding green leaves because I didn't want my giraffe to only have dry brown leaves to snack on.
Giraffe stamped on Cryogen White with Versafine Sepia and coloured with Polychromos pencils. I sponged Antique Linen first, then Old Paper, and just at the bottom I added some Tea Dye, and a hint of Vintage Photo. Grass stamped with Tea Dye and Old Paper. Foliage from Thoughts and Prayers stamped with Forest Moss. Edges sponged with black, layered on Bazzill, edges sponged with black, and then on a white base.

Perfect colors and subject for your friend. I'm surprised Judy and I (who both love giraffes) didn't stumble upon this palette!! Well done, friend!
