When I saw Janette's sketch, I decided to make an oval panel using a technique I've been applying to making ornaments. Dina shared a tutorial with us the other week on the Mixability Challenge It ends up looking like painted wood! I cut my two ovals out of cereal box board and glued them together. I used my finger to spread Gesso along the edges and over the whole piece. Once this dried, I used markers to ink up my bare tree. I used my stampamajig to line up my red balls over this. I stamped my snowflakes in Tempting Turquoise. I sponged the edges in Turquoise and added a little Suede to add to the wood feel. I used Dazzling details to add some sparkle accents and along the edges. I decided on my dp after all this and it was Baja Breeze, so I sponged a bit of that on as well to soften the blue color a little. I tied a fork bow and slid it through my ribbon piece. I stamped my sentiment and punched out a tag for my top piece. I embossed my dp in the snowflake ef. I used candy dots and brad bases for my top accents-wish I'd just used the dots as the paper was pretty weakened by the embossing and I had a little trouble with it....nothing a little extra glue didn't fix!

Very cool technique, Gail! Love how your image panel looks! LEt me be sure, all the stamping on that panel is on the dried gesso? You did a wonderful job with those beautiful snowflakes and your lovely Chrismtas tree!!! Will have to try this!!!
