This is the FIRST time I've done the Sketch Challenge and as I'm stepping out of months of CASEing cards to learn techniques, etc., I was really worried if I'd ever create anything on my own again! Does anyone else ever worry about that? Especially when I see the gorgeous work the Dirty Dozen seem to produce effortlessly! What I did today is sit down and ask myself what was it I wanted to do today and how the SKETCH was going to fit into MY work, as opposed to creating for the sketch. It seemed to make a difference...especially in how I interpreted the design (which I LOVED...I adore multi-layer designs!) I feel I fulfilled the 4 layers, altering only the strip which I used the word 'Love' to occupy. I used the McGill Carnation punches and spent about 45 minutes creating the flower. It isn't hard, it's just a lot of 'little' work. Then I sponged the edges with SU! Real Red and used mounting tape to adhere it to the Sizzix accent. I LOVE this accent! I also used mounting tape to adhere the accent to the card, making sure to really bring the flower out. I took the SU! 'Love' thinlet on gold metallic paper and used rolled glue dots to bring the word out a bit. On the inside, I used mounting tape on the 2nd and 1st layer to make it pop, used the ticket edge punch and angled the sentiment away from the other three layers for effect. I'm not sure if I achieved it...I keep staring at it and one minute, it looks fine...the next...oh well! LOL TY for letting me 'play' and for all the time y'all spend on helping us develop as artists!!

I'm pretty sure this is how we all got started! I know I didn't have a clue and thought the supplies I got would just fit in a shoebox and I could do it anywhere!! How wrong I was.... it's nice to 'meet' you and I hope you pick up the other challenges too.
Your card is GORGEOUS! The flower is amazing, it looks so real. And the die cut is the perfect compliment for it. Come back again.

OMG! One year ago...LITERALLY...I kept EVERYTHING in a plastic scrapbook case. EVERYTHING. Now, I have a room. A ROOM. My husband asked when it would end...I told him when I'd taken over the house and he and the 3 boys could camp out in the yard. ;)
