 | | Ladybugs to you - ladybirds to me ;-).
Gabby's MMTPT278 Let's Take a Cake Walk challenge was a super fun one for me, bringing back memories of many cakes I've decorated over the years. Ones that particularly spring to mind are a bunny rabbit I made for my sister when she was 9 or 10 (spaghetti whiskers) which she wouldn't cut, a swan lake for a friend's 21st, a tennis court (leaf gelatine is great for nets, also for stained glass windows), and my brother's wedding cake (photo attached in challenge thread!).
I hope to make another card but since I recently got a ladybird die, I couldn't help but be inspired by the ladybird cake ~ the fifth of Gabby's inspiration photos.
Stamped Pick a Petal in various colours and then added chalk to the background and the small round flowers. Sprayed with fixative and added Stickles, and Liquid Pearls, before finishing off with lots of ladybirds. I think the texture in the Pick a Petal stamps, along with the sparkle, gives a suggestion of piped icing.
Thanks for being such a fun hostess this week, Gabby.
And thanks too to those who have volunteered for next year's Tickle Teaparties. Still some vacancies ;-). |
