One of my RT college classmates recently died shortly after learning that she had Stage IV lung cancer. She never smoked and was found to have a genetic mutation that left her susceptible to the disease. She and her husband were a love-at-first-sight, joined-at-the-hip sort of couple. Early in their courtship I remember seeing them rowing in the lake in town, water lilies all around them.
Stamped the Flourishes Water Lilies in Memento Espresso Truffle, masked the pads and colored with Copics and studio pencils. Sponged the water with Pool Party & Caribbean. Added Pearl Pen accents to the centers of the stamped flowers. Mixed the molding paste with a drop of Antique Linen distress ink and used it to stencil the water lily on bottom. When dry, lightly painted with several shades of Pearl-Ex. Punched the dragonfly from aluminum foil per Wendy's challenge, covered with Versarmark and painted with copper, purple and green Pearl-Ex then heat set. Adhered with Glossy Accents, stamped the sentiment and done. PT - 1
Thank you, Lydia and Wendy for the great Friday challenges. Thank you all for looking and have a peaceful day.

Wow - what a stunning tribute to your friend. How sad that her husband lost such a wonderful mate. I love that your scene is something you saw them do. Your details are incredible - thank you so much for doing this for this challenge - what an honor!

Marie, sorry for the loss of your friend. Thanks goodness for memories. Your card is made right from the heart. Thanks for sharing your techniques. I never thought of adding color to the modeling paste. Need to try this. This is a beautiful tribute to your friend. Take care.
You have such a beautiful memory of your friend. I'm sure that is one of many. Your card is a lovely tribute to her and I'm sure it will be a comfort to her family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss, Marie. A beautiful card with the waterlilies which you colored exquisitely. The foil dragonfly is a lovely accent and a dragonfly would be found around ponds.
