This is my card for the HYCCT Stand Tall challenge. I got the idea for the diamond tiles from this Leafy Goodness card by Sue McRae. I first stamped the Floral Pattern several times on white CS using white ink, then heat embossed with white EP. Then I used three different shades of green watercolor crayons and scribbled over the embossed design, then used a water brush to swirl the different shades together and cover the floral pattern design. I then used a square nestability to cut squares from the green embossed paper. I sponged Almost Artichoke on the edges of all the squares to help define them. After coloring the pink flowers and green leaves using the Black Magic Technique, I cut out those squares using the square nestability as well. I glued the three black magic squares down first then glued the green squares down, allowing the tiles to hang over the edge of the card base, then I trimmed off any overhang. It sounds like a lot of steps, but its really a simple process, and the final effect you get with the pieced tiles is kind of cool looking.
