This weeks Teaparty is honouring 8 year old Tyler from Milwaukee. Tyler recently underwent heart surgery for a leaky valve. I hope all of our cards bring lots of smiles to Tyler and his family.
We had a terrific story this week from Marie, all about Rick Rana and his pet frog. To bring you up to speed, Ricky is in hospital, his parents were supposed to be looking after his frog (Freddy), Freddy escaped and all 42,000 Teapoters have been called upon to find him. I have organised a few of Rick Rana's friends to help too.
Ricky's best made Ben and Ben's identical twin brother Bert are out searching for Freddy. They hope to get a bit of fishing in after they locate wee Freddy, hence they have taken their fishing rods. It's not easy riding a bike and carrying fishing rods, they had a nasty fall last time they attempted this (you can still see their scars). Ben and Bert are identical in everyway except their height. Ben is somewhat taller. Their little sister Bonnie is also looking for Freddy the frog. If you look carefully amoungst the reeds you just might see some frog eyes (never mind that you can't see their bodies).
Now about the card. It is a stair step card (bet that shocked you). Ben, Bert and little Bonnie were all Sassy Cheryl Digi stamps in a former life. Originally I was going to make a smaller card with little Bert and Bonnie, but nothing seemed to work so I redid the sizing and created Big Ben.
I tried to create a pond, with the boys dangling their legs in the water, sadly I am not that artistic and nothing worked. I then had the brain wave to sit them on a pushbike (courtesy of lovely Peggy - jasonw1). I would like to point out that I did NOT cut the boys feet off - they were supposed to be in water. DH suggested I draw shoes - again I reminded him I am not Mutnik or Curt!!!
I made a bit of a pond in the background on the right hand side, on the left little Bonnie is treking through the bushes. The boys fishing line is made with gold twine. I did a looydy loop, applied glue, held it in place for 5 minutes while I contemplated my navel, and finally the loop had stuck in place.
Everything is paper pieced and coloured with Copics. Liquid pearls were used on the fishing rods.
Thank you for looking and have a great week everyone.

Susie your twins here must have stepped in mud cuz their feet seem to blend in with the ground! hehe This reminds me of my Dusty Dog. Why just yesterday I, fortunately, caught him before he ran in the house with his two front legs covered up to his belly in mud. What a disaster that would have been! Your twins here will hopefully clean off their feet in that stream before returning to home with sweet Freddie!.....THIS card is top notch darling. Your story big time AWESOME! You really put a lot of work in this and I am sure you enjoyed every minute of it. Well Done. TFS :0)

Susie this is just adorable! I love that Freddie is hiding in the grasses. He is kind of like the Cheshire Cat only part of him is showing. I enjoy your commentary almost as much as your cards. Not only are you a super card crafter but you are a very gifted and amusing storyteller! If I could give a narrative like that I would be writing childrens books! I always make mine very concise "Just the Facts, Mam!" But that does make for very boring reading.

Awesome scene Susie!!! Those Sassy Cheryl images are darling! Your coloring and paper piecing bring them to life! Your fishing scene with all the trees, water and grassy areas is amazing! Excellent job on the fishing poles!!! And, as always, your stair steps are FABULOUS! Super CUTE card!!!

Another wonderful scene, Susie. When I first saw it, it reminded me of Huck Finn rafting down the river (except, of course, he didn't bring a bike along) because it totally captures boys having fun on the water.

Susie, this is wonderful! Your works of art are so creative and detailed. I love the pond in the background, all the paper piecing (wow), and those darling fishing rods. Love those eyeballs peeking through the grass too. Tyler will love this!
