 | | This week's CAS Challenge is to hop on a current trend-stencils. I have definitely jumped onto this one and actually found some great sales yesterday and picked up this pretty sheet of leaf stencils by Plaid. I used one of the medium maple leaves for my card. This stencil has veins on the leaves. I laid it in place on my Natural Ivory piece and taped it down. I sponged Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Soft Suede through my leaf stencil. I then stamped on some spatter in the same colors and then the script in Baked Brown Sugar. I then sponged through the stencil onto a sticky note and then cut out a mask and placed it over my leaf adding some Suede sponging around the edges. I then tore some more sticky notes to make a mask and leaving the leaf mask in place, rolled my Timber wheel in Baked Brown Sugar a few times to add a piece of wood "behind" my leaf. I didn't end up liking the look of the blank veins on the leaf, so I took a wet brush and dipped it into the baked brown sugar ink lid and painted in the veins and also used some very watered down color around the edge of the leaf. I used my Stampamajig to choose the placement of my sentiment then stamped it in Brown Sugar. I sponged a bit of Soft Suede along the edges of the panel and used an Early Espresso base. I put another Ivory panel on the inside of the card with a couple of scored lines at the bottom.
