When we have out-of-town visitors, we love to take them to Jerome, AZ, about 2 hrs. from our home. The copper mines of this town, which is basically built on the side of a mountain, closed down in the early 50's. Most residents moved out, leaving 50-100 folks who made an effort to eke out a living promoting it as a ghost town. Over the years, they slowly turned it into a quaint, slightly funky community with many artists and interesting shops and history.
It's impossible not to take tons of pictures every time I go there. This is the left side of a dps I did from a trip we took when our Australian friend was visiting from Sydney back in 2005.

Looking at what you have done with all your photos makes me sad for those lost opportunities that are B/S (before scrapbooking) when I did not take pictures of very interesting placed I have lived and visited!! Your pages and stories are treasures that will/can last more than a lifetime.
