This is for the Sept 2013 Creative Crew challenges - Catalog Focus: Use any of the stamp sets on pages 111 - 119 in the annual catalog. Make a project in a new way to you by using a technique or a special fold you've never tried before. Use at least two of these colors: Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate or Whisper White.
I was a little surprised when I realized that I don't actually own any of the stamps on pages 111 - 119. So I did a creative substitution, and instead of the border-type images in Background Builders, I used Hello, Lovely. The new-to-me special fold I used was the Double Z-Fold card.
I put my Stamp-a-ma-jig (SAMJ) to good use lining up those images! Here's a quick tip: Newer Stampin' Up! stamps do not have the copyright info on the clear label. So when using the geometric-type images with the SAMJ, I kept forgetting which corner of the stamp I needed to line up in the guide to get the correct stamp placement. I finally took a fine-point permanent marker and made a small arrow on one corner - no more guesswork. Thanks for looking!
