This is my second card for the MIX30 challenge to use fabric and at least one other medium. I used water color paints and Distress inks.
The fabric scrap that I got from a friend was a bright blue. I tie-dyed it using bleach to give it some character, adhered it to cs and then heat embossed the Inkadinkado image with white ep. I wasn't sure it would work on fabric, but I like the way it looks!
I added layers of shimmer water colors in rose, blue, gold and turquoise but the shimmer kinda just disappeared. The colors weren't bright enough so I added Picked Raspberry Distress ink directly to the fabric and sprayed heavily with water. I added a deep purple watercolor pencil scribble and more water to make it blend.
When the piece was finally dry, I die cut it with an SB die and mounted with foam tape onto the deep purple bg layer. I used an SB edge die to add interest and paper-pierced the edge (the first time ever!), although it's hard to see in the pic.
As always, thanks for looking!

You went all out on this challenge JodyLynn! I didn't even think to try and emboss on fabric..it looks really cool and your bleaching really muted the fabric..I like it! Excellent paper piercing (on your first try)...fabulous card!

What a wonderful effect you achieved with your techniques! Oh what fun that must have been! Never thought of using bleach on a dark fabric then inking the bleached out parts! This is fabulous and I may just have to try this challenge!
