I haven't had as much time to stamp lately due to the new home schooling year that is upon us so I'm constantly thinking about stamping and even popping into the forums but not actually heading down to the stamp cave to stamp. I had seen this thread about Simply Pressed Clay on which Valerie/jeffnval linked . I wanted to give this a try by imprinting a stamp into a flattened clay ball. I'm behind in honoring our queens who're getting a review and wanted to CASE a card of Denise/resqbarbie. I had seen a couple of her Christmas cards featuring a Christmas set I own and decided to use similar colors and images from this card. Lastly, I'd been checking out the Verve Challenges as I'd just won a Verve gift certificate in the Dare to Get Dirty challenges and I saw this pretty sketch. I'm missing the square layer behind the circle and I scored my outermost "layer" as I was going from memory due to laying my sketch book down and losing it in the midst of my stamping area!
ANYWAY! I rolled a ball of SU Simply Pressed Clay then flattened it between my Impressions plate and a piece of acetate. I pressed my stamp into it, but it stuck a bit so I rerolled and flattened my ball again (it is really forgiving!) and this time put some Versamark onto my stamp before pressing. I then took markers to add my color on the image and then let it air dry while we did some more school. I sponged some Soft Suede on the dry piece and used sticky strip to adhere it to a Cherry Cobbler circle. I may go back and add a punched hole and ribbon at the top of this so the recipient can use it as an ornament. I scored and sponged my Cherry Cobbler base and stitched my dp triangles to this. I notched the ends of my sentiment and popped it up over another notched, shorter Artichoke piece. I sponged both of these as well. This banner is double popped over the circle piece. I trimmed it with 3 seam binding fork bows and called it done!

Wonderful card. The clay item is stunning. And the sewing on the background is simply lovely. My other favorite part of this card are the darling bows. You did a wonderful job.
Thanks for sharing this lovely card.
