Gift box for my freshly retired friend Margaret, (hereby known as "Lady Chennault"). This is Margaret's "traveling bag", and looks like a small suitcase IRL. It is filled with good things from those who love her. I love this Scripture from ODBD, and think it is perfect whether for a new born, graduate, or one who is retiring. These are words of hope and blessing.
I used a box from HL, and my sweet DH did most of the work. He cut patterns on computer paper so the stitched panels would fit perfectly, and his trusty X-acto knives to make the fit supreme around all the hardware. I could never have done this without him! (Sweet Buckleman!)
The flowers were from a friend (((hugs))) and the leaves are from Sizzix. The Scripture was stamped on DP and framed with a rose frame from Micheal's. I stitched the lace onto the burlap and adhered.
Thanks for looking!

Yikes, what a wonderful traveling bag you and Bubba made for Margaret - I am sure she was speechless when she saw it!!
Love the look of the lace and burlap sewn together, and the verse could not have been more perfect for the occasion, especially surrounded with the lace, flowers, satin, and bling!! I know she will treasure this and all the love that was packed inside as she begins her retirement! JUST BREATHTAKING! HUGS!

*thud* this is stunning!
(you better keep that man he is great with his measuring & tools!)
I've always thought those blingy strands are too big for cards I make and I've never thought about using them on something else, so that was my Ah-Ha thought when I first seen those. I love the texture mix on this.

gorgeous vintage flair. Love the lace, colors trims all of it. I know Maragaret will adore this and cherish it all as she is stamping, playing and relaxing the next few years. ;-)
