Trying to get caught up with at least the Mixability Challenges since we've been gone on vacation.
This is for the MIX27 challenge, to ink and color on your project and then take a graphite or #2 pencil and sketch something in the background. It also meets the WT439 challenge, to use a background stamp or make our own backgrounds.
I got this gorgeous Penny Black bg stamp while on vacation - and if you live in the Orlando/Tampa area, it's worth the time and gas to head to Lakeland and shop at Violette's. It's an amazing shop that Kittie (Kittie747) told me about - I was in absolute hog heaven!
Anyway, I stamped the image on white cs with VersaMark and embossed with a bluish gray ep from Whispers. It was colored with a combination of Crayola metallic colored pencils and Inktense pencils. I started shading around the images with my #2 pencil but wasn't happy with it, so I just filled in all the white space with pencil, smoothed it with a tissue and added the dots. The pencil on top of the embossing really brought out the detail. I added Gelly Roll Stardust pen to the flowers and leaves, smudging them out with a q-tip to make it a little more subtle. The window opening was cut with SB dies, and the sentiment repeated the steps I used on the background.
As always, thanks for looking!

What a very pretty, soft background you created, Jody. Hope you enjoyed your vacation! Great work with the pencil as well as creating your own background. I especially like all the little dots.
