Had a last-minute inspiration to play along with the current Unity Stamp Co. challenge, and fill a few other challenges as well - this works for Karen, Beate, and my challenges in the DTGD forum, and also fits this week's Mix-Ability challenge! This is a hymnal which I'm altering as inspiration strikes - I used gelatos, pencils, and acrylic paints, and the stamp is from Phyllis Harris' line at Unity.

Oh wow, Dina - this is totally fabulous! It gives such a feeling of embracing a bright new day!
I have to say that most of even the older hymn books I have, the pages are too thin to stand up to much. Do you back the pages with anything? (I even just went and looked at my oldest one to see if older ones were better quality paper, LOL).

They're not super heavy so I have to be gentle and I can't used mediums that are wet or need water to move... I did some test pages in the back, and those are here: http://mamadinis.blogspot.com/2013/06/altered-hymnal

Dina, this is totally fantastic! I showed to my husband (church song leader) and his response was "Oh, wow!"
We have several old hymnals. The wheels are turning...
Thanks for the inspiration!

Been peeking at the progress of your hymnal project here and there. You are so dearly blessed with talent and how inspiring it is to me to see how you are using your skills to glorify our Lord. You rock!!!
