This is my project for MIX25 - Unfinished Business. This week's challenge: Make a mixed media project on a white surface (canvas, cardstock) where you only finish part of a stamped or sketched image - sort of like mixed media spotlighting. You must use three or more mediums - paint, ink, chalk, collage elements, embossing, graphite - any of the above.
I stamped the large focal image onto cream cardstock after inking the stamp partially with VersaFine Vintage Sepia and partially with VersaMark. I colored over the VersaMark with dust from soft pastels with a small paintbrush and masked the image. I sponged the piece with Distress Inks and brushed on gesso in random areas. I layered on various stamps and texture using Distress Ink and acrylic paint, then applied clear embossing powder to random areas and heat set. Too bad it doesn't show in the photo, it's kind of interesting...
As always, thanks for looking!

It is interesting! The colors on the bg and partial area of the leaves are so pretty..and the gesso adds some light effects to this...Well done on this challenge!
