Cathy's challenge today is to use chevron stripes on our cards. I hope it's OK that I went a bit free-style with mine .
To start, I made aBargello background with My Mind's Eye papers, because the zig-zag effect always makes me think chevron - especially when you see it in large pieces of needlework.
My flower is a Sizzix die cut from more of the same paper, then sponged with Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade. I even found a matching brad for the centre! Instead of foliage I used some green paper cut with the MFT chevron die, and added stitching lines. The base layer is mounted on an A2 card sponged with Peeled Paint distress stain, and I added stitching lines to both the base and the edge of the Bargello panel.
Sentiment is from Think Happy Thoughts, popped up on foam. I think I used the flower from Seeing Spots by mistake instead of the one from Think Happy Thoughts, though.

WOW, Sabrina...what a lot of love went into making this gorgeous card. The Bargello background does remind me of chevron stripes and your pieced flower is beautiful! Love how you used the chevrons for foliage...very creative!
Awesome card!!! There is that beautiful flower. I still have my card hanging up in my stamping room you sent me made with this die. I love how you did the bg. This is so unique. Love it Sabrina! I haven't been able to play for awhile. I am spending all my time working on wedding invites for my granddaughter.
