I never got around to doing the Ways to Use It challenge from last week - "Flower Trivia" - to do a card using your state or provincial flower. I wanted to do it as I recently bought a dogwood stamp and it is British Columbia's provincial flower.
Dogwood blooms in the spring so my card will go in my stash to send out next spring! I kept it simple to showcase the dogwood branch. Dogwoods come in a few colours but the official one is white so I only coloured in the centres which are yellow - I used a gelly roll pen to give it a bit of sheen.
I recently bought the Spellbinders' A2 rectangles and deckled rectangles - perfectly proportioned for A2 cards. I used one rectangle to create a debossed frame for the pink deckled border, and then a smaller one which perfectly fit my image. There was a nice space above the flowers for my sentiment. I love it when all the proportions and spacing works out so well!

Yay! Another Canadian provincial flower! Susan, I love the way you featured this beautiful dogwood flower image front and centre! I love the deckled edge of the mat!
