Ok, I live in Ohio and our state flower is the carnation. I HATE the carnation!! I did live in NY for 5 years, so in my mine, once a New Yorker, always a New Yorker!! I colored the image with copics and pencils. I just can't get the coloring down with 3 copic markers, I always seem to mess it up some how, but I can control the darker color more with pencil.
TFL!

LOL at your write-up - but I love carnations! Especially when they smell like they are meant to. But if you're in a "New York state of mind", then your rose is perfect for the challenge, and looks lovely with the two colours for layering.

If someone gave me the choice between a rose and a carnation....I would pick the rose. I would call the carnation the flower that keeps on going. They are the last flower to die in a bouquet. Your image of the rose is shaded beautifully. Glad you could add this fantastic card to the gallery today. Happy 4th.

very pretty card Amy.... Love the simple layout.. I find that pink is my hardest to blend and a few other combinations too... Some are so easy you don't even have to work at it... When that happens, it is great....You done a beautiful job with your rose

I like roses for their pure beauty and I like carnations for their hardiness. So I can go either way! But your rose here is a real beauty, with wonderful coloring!

That rose image has long been a favorite of mine - your coloring of this is lovely, and pink roses are my favorite, followed closely by yellow. Would much rather have either of those colors than red!
