 | | This is for Color Challenge 433 - Red, White and Blue. And darned if this card isn't red, white and blue! With a perfectly legit Antique Linen base (plus gold, but I consider silver and gold accents, which don't count, right?).
I don't know how this miracle of total color compliance occurred, really. When I looked up the combo this morning I almost decided to give this challenge a pass because while I am as patriotic as the next gal, I don't do well with this color scheme, artistically speaking. But Distress Ink to the rescue. I did my BG using Barn Door and Stormy Sky, and stamped over it with Midnight Muse using my Cover-A-Card stamp in Swirls and Stars. The gold metallic cardstock was embossed using the Darice Music folder and the bird image (from Studio G) was embossed in black on white and mounted on some red textured Core-dinations CS. The print strip was a scrap.
Dessert was to do a patriotic theme. Well, maybe my bird is singing the Star Spangled Banner. Or not.
Thanks for looking, and Happy Fourth of July to all! |
