For the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog - make a card with a Vintage Theme. And for SCS's Christmas Card Challenge for June. And for the last week's Mix-Ability challenge "Smudgin' Around" - to smudge or smear a border around the image.
Vintage cards are very hard for me - I hope I got the gist of vintage in this one! I think of darker colours, old-fashioned images and fonts, lace, etc.
This collage stamp from Old Island looked vintage to me! And smudging on the stamped image made it look older. I stamped and heat embossed the collage image, then smudged with Metallic Rub-ons - blue smudges on the snowflakes, silver on the bird's chest, green on the pine branch at the top left, and then gold around the sentiment and around the whole stamped area.
I mounted it with dimensionals on a piece of gold cs which was layered on a dark Victorian-looking dp with a piece of lace tied around it. The name of the colour of cardstock I used for the card base and stamped piece is Vintage Cream and the ink is Vintage Sepia - how perfect is that!!
