I *LOVED* making this card. I dotted Distress Paints (colors below) on a kraft mat, misted with water and then raked my watercolor paper through the ink. Let it dry and voila. So easy, and I thought it was perfect for this sentiment from Verve.
A dear neighbor of mine is trudging her way through supporting a son in his first few months of Navy life. She's just as proud as can be of his decision (as are all of us who love him!) but, her momma-heart aches for the changes that it's brought to her family. I get teary just thinking about the sacrifices that so many families make to serve our country. At any rate, I wanted to let her know how proud I am of her, and how watching her has helped me understand what it means to be a parent for the long-haul.

What a gorgeous card. I love that background (have to try this technique). It truly is perfect for showcasing this wonderful Verve sentiment. Such a pretty flower and I love how you've layered off-centered like that. I would have never thought of that but it looks wonderful.
