When I first saw the colors for today's challenge, I wasn't sure that I was going to like them. I tried a new technique I call -color my world. I took one of my digital photos. I used editing software to make it look like a pencil drawing. Then I printed the drawing onto cardstock. After printing, I water colored the image. I really wanted the butterfly to stand out so I used a black ink pen to color and outline it. I love doing mixed media. I stamped the sentiment using Marks Finest Papers set called SPRING THINGS. The background on my card is a page from the "J" encyclopedia. I added, sewing, rick rack and brads to finish off this card.

Beautiful card! I really like how your butterfly stands out against the pale muted bg. The stitching, brads and rick rack ribbon are nice finishing touches.

MariLynn this is GORGEOUS!!! I can't begin to figure out how you made the digital image look like a pencil drawing but you sure rocked it! LOVE the rich hues of the butterfly... all the layers of softness as a background, and your sewing!!! Wowza!!!
