This is one of my projects for the Mix18 challenge, to make a simple design with markers or paint
and then outline the shape with a fine black or white pen. You can use your shapes to create a background or a focal image.
I didn't actually create the shapes on either of my projects. They were created on the paper towels that I used to wipe brushes and clean my craft mat.
I thought they were interesting on their own, but the longer I looked, I could see patterns emerge.
After outlining the flower shape, I adhered the paper towel with Mod Podge to a piece of white cs that had a pale purple gelli print on it. I stamped the piece with an alphabet stamp in a sepia ink and a number stamp in turquoise. I mixed some modeling paste with green acrylic glaze and applied it through the tile stencil. When it dried, I added the sentimant, the black harlequin border, and a sepia flourish border along the bottom edge. I stamped a small dot stamp and the butterfly and heat embossed with antique gold ep. I debated lightly sponging the edges in black, but couldn't commit to that, lol, so I edged the piece by dragging it across a Distress Black Soot inkpad. I may still go back and sponge a bit.
All in all, I'm fairly pleased with it. And as always, thanks for looking!

Oh, this one is truly gorgeous! I love, LOVE the collage elements you used on this! And, again, beautiful hand drawing! Really, really a great take on this MIX!
