Stacy(Twinshappy) asked me to create a sample for this month’s SCSCC using the theme of ”Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”.
I had to get a little creative on this one. No Grandma stamps and the one deer stamp I had was a life-like deer. Since this song makes me think more along the lines of a cartoon than life-like images I had to be a little creative. My Deer is actually a moose! I changed the shape of his face a bit, added an oval nose and paper pieced the deer antlers from my life-like deer stamp.
I decided that Santa's reindeer have way too much experience to clumsily run over Grandma so I made up my own little story and the reindeer wishes to explain that someone strung Christmas lights too low. His antlers got caught on the lights and in the process of freeing himself...he uh, ran over Grandma. Her feet and hat sticking out of the snow. (Her feet are actually Santa feet from an MFP stamp set!) So that's my little story.
I hope you will join in the Christmas fun and play along with the Dirty Dozen June Christmas challenge.

You did a SUPER card for the song theme....and I like you story too. The scene that you created is terrific with the bewildered reindeer with the string of lights in his antlers and scattered pieces of Grandma's clothing. The snowy drifts and star-like patterned DP for the sky make perfect backdrops. Well done!!
