I had such fun creating this card ...and it fits two challenges - yay me! It fits Papertrey Ink'sMIM#115 and SCS'sWays To Use It - WT426. PTI's challenge is to emboss/impress into something other than paper - I used metal tape from the hardware store and impressed an image. SCS's challenge is Discover It i.e. try anything new to me - I painted over the impressed image with black acrylic paint and after it dried I sanded off the paint from the raised image. I never tried it before but always wanted to try it. Actually with all the different mediums that I used it probably could fit in one of the Mixed Media Challenges, too, but I'm not sure.
I created the wrought iron fence by embossing the image into the metal tape, painted it, sanded it, and then adhered it to a strip of scrap cardstock to give some stability. On a black cardstock panel I stamped the tree with cream pigment ink and colored it in with Prismacolor pencils. The crescent moon was created with a circle punch and some scrap pale yellow cardstock and glued to the black panel. I adhered the wrought iron fence to the panel and then stamped the finials that coordinate with the impression plate in silver and embossed in clear e.p. I think in future I would probably reverse that process and stamp with Versamark and emboss in silver. I added a scrap of designer paper to the bottom to indicate a sidewalk or path.
The owl was printed on a scrap piece of white cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I also used a cream color around the image to indicate that he was caught in the moon light. The treat bag was stamped on a scrap and colored with Copics. I also highlighted around it with a pale yellow. Finally I used foam adhesive to pop up the owl and the treat bag.
I know it's a bit early for Halloween but you have to go with the inspiration when it hits you. My inspiration was the wrought iron fence impression plate and the rest of it fell in line.
Thanks for looking! I hope my card helps to provide some inspiration for you to create a card.

All the techniques you used combined to make a great card! Love the fence and how you created the tree behind it, and how clever that the owl is preying on the treat bag!
