This card meets the WT426 Challenge - Discover It, to try anything new on your project. This is the first time I have ever used lace on a card!
This is for a young couple's wedding. They both love horses and things "western", so when the groom's mom showed up at work with a shopping bag that looks like tooled leather, I snagged it immediately. The frame around the picture and the base layer were covered with pieces from that bag and coated with a layer of ModPodge to give it a little bit of sheen.
The picture is from an old card that had been given to me; I scanned it and resized it; gave it a coat of ModPodge and sponged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The lace is from some craftsy thing my stepmother did years ago. It really wasn't to my taste and I saved this lace when I deconstructed it. I very lightly sponged it with Antique Linen Distress Ink, and added tiny pale blue pearls in the center of the lace flowers.
The horseshoe charm was originally silver with black oxidation, which wouldn't work at all, but I loved it and was determined to find a way to use it. I was browsing in Michaels and found a product called Rub and Buff, it's a metallic paste that worked very well - but it was very messy! Worth it though, I think. I added another blue pearl to the ring on the charm and adhered it to the scalloped heart with Glossy Accents. The heart and layer behind the picture is Core'dinations.
I really love how this recycled card turned out and think they will, too. As always, thanks for looking!

This is a very pretty card. Very victorian of the west. I love the cowgirl boots, in comparison with the white shoe boots .The lace is the perfect accent, along with the pearls, and the red rose , and the lace curtain. I just love everything about your card. Very pretty. tfs.
