The Mixability challenge for this week was to make a card with modern art - something different than what we usually do. I got my inspiration from several photos on Pinterest with cascades of brightly colored paper. I woke up at 4:45 this morning with the idea full blown in my mind so got up and made this card.
Even before thinking of the cascading colors, I knew I wanted to use bubble wrap. I ran red, green, blue and purple inkpads across the bubble wrap then turned it down onto my cs and patted it lightly. The bubbles and the stripes (made with Copics) extend part way over the top and onto the back of the card.
I added the Copics lines because I wanted to make sure I used more than one color medium. Actually, I think the cs is one of the color media on this card.
When I first had the idea, I was going to stack the circles evenly and the 1" wide strips were going to be in a straight line. But the way I ended up doing them has a lot more motion. After fanning my strips, I had a part that needed to be trimmed off, and I was going to toss that piece, but something made me place it in several areas on the card, finally landing next to the first strip. The tip extends just a bit off the edge of the card - which I never do! I used all scraps, 28 pieces, to make this card.
The smallest circle looked too plain, so I added the bling then added Perfect Pearls on the black piece. It is a thick and heavy card and took me probably more than 2 hours to make, but it is my favorite of all the Mixability cards that I've made so far. Thanks so much for the challenge!

I'm such a huge fan of rainbow colours, Val, this really caught my eye in the gallery - and it REALLY does have a modern art effect! Well done with this challenge, which I didn't think would be very easy!
