There are many variations of this card; I used the tutorial at “Card Making Magic”. I cut my cardstock 8 ¼” x 11” so it would fit into my Grand Calibur. I made a template for the opening from cardstock using the largest die from Spellbinders “Just Swingin’ set”. Then, I taped my template to the opening on one side of the card and cut out the opening, turned the template over and cut the other side to match. I added eyelets to the top and bottom of the openings to thread my ribbon through.
Cut blue cardstock 7 7/8” x 5 ¼” and adhere to the center of the card. Cut White paper using the Cuttlebug Brocade Window Embossing Plus Folder and adhere to the blue so the top edges are even. Cut Spellbinders Grand 12” Classic Lace Border out of white and adhere to the bottom. Adhere a ribbon over where the 2 pieces meet. Add your greeting to the bottom as shown. The flowers are Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch Dies and are formed using the flower forming toolkit. The digi leaves are from Cre8tive Kits by Bonnie McLain. I sponged leaves using yellow and 2 shades of green. I added the flower color to the veins using colored pencils. The Fronds, Martha Stewart punch, are glittered. I punched 6 Martha Stewart Doves, glued them together in sets of 3 and used Stickle Waterfall Glitter Glue on them; let dry and adhered to card. I cut the acetate 8 ½” x5 7/8” and used Red Line Tape adhere it to the inside of the front flaps. I used sheer ribbon to tie the front together an added 2 Posy Patch Swirls.
I followed the same theme on the card back leaving off the lace. I added the words to the center of the Brocade Window and another Posy Patch Swirl on the bottom of the window.
