Wow, is it really the last Thursday in April?!? That means it's Kathy's last challenge over at CCEE Stampers, and for me it was a fun one.
She asks us to get creative with kitchens ~ use whatever you might find in your kitchen, appliances, food, utensils, etc.
As someone who used to work as a cook, this was right up my street - the only problem was deciding what stamp to use. In the end I was torn between the Voila chef and this gal - but I wanted to do an awning card (sort of) so the Diva Chef won out. (I see Anne brought her along too, maybe I should have gone with Voila!!).
RubberRomance Diva Chef stamped on Bristol Board and coloured with Couleur dÂ’Art pencils. For the backsplash behind her I used the Faux Grid technique (TLC229), with a flower from Roses in Winter stamped in Broken China and a yellow marker for the centres.
Not quite an awning card. It's bigger than my normal card, 5" x 7". Top is MFT Jumbo Scallops cut from blue and red, Liquid Pearls, scoring, SU border punch. Bottom is white card scored, and a ledge made from the same colour as the base card, punched and decorated with Liquid Pearls.
If you are inspired to cook up a kitchen-themed card be sure to leave a link on the blog!

Sabrina, this is an adorable awning card you've made. I love that cute backsplash. Such a wonderful job on the 'kitchen' challenge.

I think it's so funny that of all the kitchen-y images, we used the same one!! Love your almost awning, and the RED, of course!
