Thanks to Joan Ervin and the Technique Lovers' Challenge, I've learned this fabulous new technique - it is perfect for Christmas cards, and I'm sure I'll use it a lot. It's called "Stamp it, Mask it, Sponge it, and Glitter it up!". See TLC423 for instructions.
In this card, I used a collage style stamp, stamped it and masked just the bird, then sponged with Distress inks (adding more green in the area the holly is), then added transparent glitter with a glue pen. Trimmed it, mounted it on red cs, and then popped it up on dimensionals on dp and a white cardbase. Tiny red gemstones for the berries.

Oh, Susan! I think this is my favorite of your cards! And I have a lot of favorites. Such a sweet bird and the background paper is perfect for the image!

Oooh I like this one too, and its cool that the glitter is enough to not let the printed paper through too. it add's to the dimensional look I guess is what I mean.
