Ta Da! Curt, you might know him from MMTPT, saw the challenge today about "girls rule" so he asked me to help him put this little card together as a special treat for his mom.
That's right, Curt actually has a mom. hehe We could only get a close up silhouette style, but it is indeed his mom. She is such a very colorful cow at that! Who knows, someday you might get to meet her at the Teapot Party......details of my card....
Tried a new to me technique for the bg. It goes like this.....spray the cs with starch, put some type of color that is water soluble on top (I used perlex powders), spray more starch then cover it with crinkles plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes. No cheating, 30 minutes. Makes for a cool bg don't you think?
For the silhouette, I drew the image on regular paper, put clear packaging tape over top, then cut it out making a mask and a stencil. Used the stencil for this lovely image of Curt's mom, who goes by the name "Mom". hehe
Added a few white pencils lines so you could get the idea of what she looks like. Also colored her hat, belt and pretty shoes with a red pencil.
Cut the panel out with deckle scissors, added doodles and doodle lines. Put some scrap colored cs on a white card than my panel. Done.
Well, hope this isn't too crazy!...but then again, that is who I am! hehe.......TFL :0)

REALLY COOL bg, Cathy. You always have some new "to die for" technique up your sleeve. I was thinking Gelli, but you surprised me. Curt's mom has some good lookin' legs there! ; ) Fun card as always....a happy spot in the gallery.....due in part to your sparkling description.

I always love reading your inspiring stories of Curt, and today we get to meet Curt's Mom! Ha, she's totally black! I guess Curt gets his spots from his Pa! Anyhow, your background is dynamic, Cathy! So unique.....Wonderful card for Curt to give to his mom~
