I've been working on and off on this card all day! I loved today's inspiration site and was inspired by this Limoge Box Bonzai Plant in Asian Planter. I didn't have time to make cards for all the challenges today, so I'm combining! The Love Fest Challenge today is to Bling it on, using bling or metallics. I didn't get a chance to make a card yet for the Mixability challenge which was to take text on white and add at least 3 reds. I started by finding some Japanese text and printing onto glossy card stock. I then used the Polished Stone technique and 3 red reinkers along with some gold to add the bold color to my panel. I stamped my bonsai tree onto glossy as well and embossed with black detail ep. I then filled my aqua pen with alcohol and dipped into my ink pads to color the tree....lots of fussy cutting later...I used dimensionals to adhere it to a brushed gold oval. I used some more glossy white and embossed my sentiment in black ep. I added an accent from a piece I picked up at a thrift store. I threw a couple more red gems to tie in with this accent piece. Finally, I typed (bonus points for me!) my word onto a tag from a pair of pants. I backed this with black and notched the ends. I added an eyelet in black and a gold brad and at last called it all done!

Gail, your little Bonsai is so like the Limoges box you selected! Love all the Asian elements and your sentiment is wonderful! Your embellishment going across your card reminds me of Chinese lanterns : ) Fabulous card!!!

Wow, Gail, you put a lot into this design. I love polished stone and can just imagine how gorgeous it is IRL. I especially love the dainty trim that looks like coins or lanterns.
