As I was looking through Mary's (octoberbabe) gallery to find a card to CASE for this week's Queen for the Day challenge, I came across her Prestwick at Sea card, which reminded me a little bit of a card I had made at a class this past Saturday. What I liked particularly about the card we had made was the way the ship's sails looked. After stamping the ship on vellum, you turn it over on a foam mat and use a stylus to rub on the sails. When you turn it back over to the front, the sails have now turned white and puffed out a bit. My card is similar to Mary's -- the layout is rotated -- and I added a bit of red; but all the elements are there.
Congratulations, Queen Mary! Enjoy your reign!!!

I like this idea with the stylus on vellum. How impressive that made the sails. Being a fan of pirates, my little grandson would like this card. I sure do.

A wonderful card, Lois....and TFS this tip on making "billowing white sails" on a tall ship. This would be an adorable card for a young boy with the pirate theme.
