I am sooo very behind on getting this card made for the QFTD challenge but I just had to make one to honor our dear, sweet Shirley (wannabcre8tive)! I loved going through page after page of Shirley's gallery...what a talent and sense of humor she has! I finally settled on two cards and kind of made a combination of them. Here they are: Flying at Sunset,sq by wannabcre8tive at Splitcoaststampers and Cowboy Sunset, saq by wannabcre8tive at Splitcoaststampers. I did not brayer the background but masked and sponged it instead. I drew and cut out a crown instead of a circle for the sun mask. I also masked off strips to spray with shimmer spritz to resemble rays of sunshine. The "schicken" ( I have recently been told that this is Shirley and Blooms' pet name for a chicken...lol) was stamped and then colored in to provide a "dramatic" silhouette for our Queen. This took me way outside of my norm but that is the challenge, right? I think I need some more practice at it but I also think you can get the general idea I was going for....creating a little silliness from a serious card using the Best of Cluck stamp set. Shirley, I hope you enjoyed your reign and my apologies for my tardiness in getting this done for you! I loved your beautiful gallery! Here's to the dawn of a new Queen.... ;) ! Hope everyone has a great weekend! I plan on visiting Jammer Town today!

Ah....glorious Schicken! Oh Katie, what an honor to this sweet Schicken Queen! You do know this here Schicken is running to hide this Saturday night, right? Yes, for we all know that a proper Sunday dinner is Southern Fried Schicken, with f'reals mashed taters and biscuits! And, we did have that when Shirt was here! Yes, ma'am!
I love-love-love your sparkling sky. Excellent blingage for sure! Gorgeous, rich color and a crown to boot! The silhouette is so striking against your torn horizon. Gawgus case, x2 my friend! Queen Shirley will feel so honored to see this! I love how many wonderful cards you have made with this set! Amazing, but then, it's a "Katie" card! Lymi, hugs.....

Omg, Jammer town Katie, this is awesome. I had even forgotten about the first card in the case, it was so long ago.
I love how you did the rays of sunshine and your crown, so creative. That Schicken is running for his life clucking away, " The Jammer Town Queen is coming to ring my neck, no I don't want to be Sunday dinner". I have to admit fried Schicken is a favorite food for me. Katie, I am honored that you came over to help celebrate my rein. Thank you. Don't worry about being tardy, that is a Jammer Town requisite-must be a slacker. LOL Only a couple of us JT gals run a yeaar behind sometimes. Have a great day.

Ah Katie, that chicken is thinking 'run chicken run you can't catch me' - bwahaha, I'm a gonna be lickin my lips tomorrow. What a tribute to Shirley and to the south - Mine eyes have seen the giant chicken on the road to Marietta....another one that didn't make it. Seriously, love how you did this card, that chicken looks fab surrounded by that crown, now that is creative thinking on your part GF, too cute.
