Well, here's what I came up with for the Last Card Standing challenge. I will really admit that I had trouble coming up with something (my TE stamp stash is kind of small, and my printer does not like cardstock)....so much pressure! However, once I focused on who I was sending this to, it was pretty darn easy.
The directions received said that we could make a card for a pet bestie too, and I have always told my 7 year old labbie Stella that we are best friends (spending 10 hours in the backseat of the car bonding on her way home to live with us will do that). And Stella truly does enjoy my cards....eating them, that is. She is a master cardstock thief
So I decided to go with a human recipient for my card: my mom. I'm an only kid, so I've always been pretty tight with my mom, and I brought her to the "dark side" of papercrafting, and it's a big deal when we are able to take a road trip to our local craft store and ogle the goodies there, then do lunch afterwards. She just retired this year, and it's been super hectic for her so far, so this will be a nice pick-me-up for her.
I went with my favorite TE set, Discover Your Wings, to make a butterfly scene, and I put some Spica pens on the flowers, but of course it doesn't show up on the photo. Her favorite color is blue, so this Indie Chic paper was a no-brainer to choose. A bunch of die cuts and doo-dads later (very technical terms here) and it's a card!
It's been a hoot to be a part of this, and I hope I get to keep playing with this group of talented girls next week! Thanks for looking!

So many wonderful details on this pretty friendship card! The lace and pearls add a touch of elegance! I'm sure your mom will love and appreciate it more than Stella! LOL!

Your so lucky to have your Mom to make cards for. I have only been making "nice cards" in the last few years. I used to do just the computer generated ones using a card program. My Mom passed before I hooked up with all of you here on this site and got so much inspiration and "I think I can do that" Anyway this is so nice...love your work of art!

What a sweet, sweet story about your mother. I love it. Your card is wonderful with all of those beautiful embellishments, and I love the papers you chose
