This is for my sons birthday and is also for the colour challenge ast The Outlawz! The gears are die cuts and papers from my scrap pile. The stripe is from Stampin Up a few years ago.
I used Distress ink pads to age the gears that were painted with TH Paint Daubers. Instead of making the paint even and flat, I dabbed the paint on and a bit thicker here and there and a rough finish.
Thanks or looking!

the entire card is so cool. like what you did with coloring of the gears. To me the gears look 'shimmery' is that the results of using 'TH daubers' ? I've not used the daubers yet.

Thanks for your wonderful comments!
The gears were cut with a THoltz die and then painted with the THoltz Silver dauber. When I painted the cardboard I put the paint on generously with an up and down motion to create tiny peaks. Swiping the silver paint will give the gears too much of a smooth look. The peaks will soften and in the end make it look like rough metal. Once dry, I used Distress Gathered Twigs here and there to age them. Make sure to dry with a heat gun or the Distress will rub off.
Have fun!
