Oh how I enjoyed browsing through the site Anne picked out for us today. It was like going back in time, and being at my Grandmother's house. She being French showed in her home decor. The piece I picked out just jumped at me immediately. http://www.frenchgardenhouse.com/catalog.php?item=1087
It is a doll dress, but it reminded me of a dress she made for me and three other granddaughters. She crocheted them in white, and because of her strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary she inserted the blue ribbon on the waist and sleeves. When I saw this piece it reminded me of this.. http://www.frenchgardenhouse.com/catalog.php?item=2973
Instead of a pink ribbon, women would decorate little girls dresses in blue and white. The colors of the Virgin Mary. Side note....when my parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary our youngest daughter wore this dress to the occassion.
I embossed a border that looked somewhat like the crocheted dress. Added the ribbon and added pearls. Made the cross. tfl
