I needed to do a thank you card for friends who had me for dinner the other day and when I saw the Free For All challenge "Ombre, mon amie", it seemed perfect. The challenge says to use shades of colour that morph from one to the next. It is also for the TLC challenge "Blissful Backgrounds" to select a background technique from the SCS tutorials - I chose the Watercolor Wash technique but used Twinkling H2Os instead of reinkers.
My friends served a triple chocolate mousse cake for desert that went from dark chocolate to milk chocolate to white chocolate so I tried to recreate that in the background for my thank you sentiment. I used three colours of Twinkling H2Os and did a colour wash on watercolour paper with each colour merging into the other.
I stamped and embossed the thank you and flourish and mounted it on a dry embossed background.

What a wonderful job of blending the shades of color into each other - I need to get out my twinkling H2O's! I also wish I could have a piece of that cake you described!

This is so elegant and very YUMMY! My eyes were drawn to this even from the thumbnail. AS I read the description of your inspiration I loved it even more.

Susan, this is so beautiful. I love the way the colours blend into each other. I love the flourish and the embossed bg. This is a wonderful personal thank you! And my mouth is watering, just thinking about that chocolate mousse!
