I wanted to make a card for our Queen for the Day. I was grabbed immediately by this awesome, eye-catching card MMTPT209_bensarmom by bensarmom at Splitcoaststampers in Sue aka Bensarmom's great gallery. I just had to try the technique. Note to self ANY technique involving reinkers should automatically make me use gloves. Needless to say my fingers are a bit stained this morning! Definitely a messy, but fun technique. I used a bunch of blue reinkers on my largest acrylic block and spritzed and used my brush to spread out the ink as demonstrated in the tutorial that Sue linked with her card http://stampembellishcreate.ning.com...sg_mes_network I stamped onto watercolor paper. The purple splotches are a happy accident that occurred when I was doing another bg with purple inks. I inked my silhouette image first in Versamark then into the Elegant Eggplant and embossed in clear. I stamped my sentiment with Eggplant also. I had to move the bow as the balance of things just seemed off with the scale of my image. Such a fun bg that I will definitely try again.
This also qualifies for Lydia's final Dare to Get Dirty Challenge (wish I could say that I'd completed them all, but I've had a lot of fun with what I've been able to do). Check out the challenges and come along and play Forums at Splitcoaststampers
