Did you see the fab tutorial over at the CLASSroom by Julie Ebersole (7/17/12) - glassine bags are all the rage right now and for once in my life, I'm on the cutting edge (I'm typically 6-12 months behind and then it's no longer the rage - HA)!!
Our daughter just returned from Germay last night so today was her first day back in the US, talking to all her friends, getting caught up on life - I mean the chick was gone for 11 days!
She's attending a very close friend's birthday tomorrow (and just asked today - oy!) so I wanted to make a fun, cute card she could tuck into the gift so I set to work - after running to buy the b-day gift. Ahh...teenagers!
I stamped the glassine bag with Palette Hybrid New Canvas ink (front and back) and zapped it with the heat gun - can you see the design? Very pretty IRL - the stamp is from Papertreyink's anniversary set (Round and Round) from 2009.
The card doesn't open - more of a post card type card; layers of PTI Hawaiian Shores, True Black and Hibiscus Burst. Then I die cut numerous flowers from zebra printed tissue paper using PTI's Beautiful Blooms II die; I layered those altogether, tied off with a cute little flower button. Then I scrunched up the flower and inked all the edges with Hawaiian Shores. The Hibiscus Burst layer was stamped with polka dots in the same color and then edged with PTI's Fresh Snow Ink. The "Birthday Wishes" was stamped with Hawaiian Shores ink.
Alyssa will write on the back of the card, tuck it into the glassine envelope, seal and we're good to go! One of the gifts we bought her friend was a disposable underwater camera - hence the front of the bag has the camera and two stickers - "cutie" and "love this".
