This is a close-up the baby girl onesie I made for my sister who is having twins, one boy and one girl. I used craft ink to stamp the image in black, then used my craft stampin spots with aqua painters to color in the images. Note of caution: Ensure your aqua painter is not exceedingly wet, as this will cause the ink to run when coloring-in. Also, I stamped the black image, then heat set it before coloring in to avoid having the image run when coloring. To top off the items, I used the set "I'm Here" on the back, and put a foot in the bum area of the boy's and a hand on the bum area of the girl's for added fun. These turned out far better than I'd have expected. For reference, I used 0-3mo. onesies for this (you can get a 5-pack at Wal-Mart for about $10).

These are the cutest things! My sister is going to have a baby in Sept. so I'm on the lookout for various things to do. This is going in my faves to come back to.

how do you heat set the craft inks. I made some burp cloths and used craft inks. I thought I heat set them by ironing them when they dried, but when they were washed the inks all completely washed off. I then used my Fabrico markers and they worked great. Help. I am making some baby onesies for a shower gift next week. When do you heat set and then how do you do that? Thanks.

I used the craft inks and just heat set with the iron, too. Honestly, I did not wash them after stamping them, so perhaps they will fade, too, when they are washed... The only thing I can recommend is multiple heat-settings. Another thing I have heard is that you should wash them before stamping on them, but do not use fabric softener on the initial wash.
