Recently while sorting through some silk ribbon embroidery pieces I found some leftovers from a jewellery class I taught at my Smocking Guild meeting. So when I saw to-day's inspirational challenge site with all those wonderful vintage roses it reminded me of this embroidered piece. All you have to do is find a piece of fabric you like and follow the pattern with stitches. I included a sample of the broach our class made using this technique. The rest was simple. double frame it.. mount it on foam dots.. and cuttlebug the background. I also added some antique crackle with a hero arts stamp and made lines with my scorepal. I also added a little bit of faux stitching with a dressmaker's tracing wheel.

Sue, this is extraordinary and what a VERY special card to send to someone. I chuckled at your "all you do" statement. YOU might whip that out with golden stitches, but mine would be a mess!! Not only is your embroidered panel beautiful, but the antique golden corners add such a lovely accent as does the Swiss dot texture in the bg. Thanks for sharing your lovely pin as well.....you are obviously multi-talented!

WOW..Sue this is FABULOUS!! I love embroidery so this card really strikes a chord with me..the gold stitching following the design is such a clever idea. I love it on your button pin and your card..love the extra gold crackle bg and the gold corners....just beautiful!!
