I don't often get time to create on Sundays, so it was fun today to try out the tutorial from Resources for the Triple Layer Pop-Up card .
My hedgie looked alright at my desk, but getting down to eye-level to take the photo, I can see that he needs to be moved down a little - consider it done.
Top insets show the card closed with a belly band, and the card front without the belly band.
Since it's the first time I tried this I followed the instructions exactly as given, and kept it simple till I'd made one and got a better handle on the construction. I used kraft for the base, and Basic Grey for the green strips, grass and flower on the front. I'd like to try shallower strips so that the grass might work better, next time. Sentiment is Hero Arts. Images are Penny Black - the tree is coloured with pencils, the hedgehog and Ted with distress inks. Front is embossed with Floral Fantasy and stitched, belly band is stitched. Flowers are Sizzix Daisies #2, with punched flock paper for the centres. I was about to punch a butterfly when I stopped to pick up some stuff that had fallen off the table with the vibrations from the sewing machine, and there was a blue K&Co butterfly, perfect .
