Well - maybe it's a little vintage along with a little modern - but I don't quite have the hang of pure modern yet! : ) And didn't quite get the theme of the engagement shower down but I did try... in my own way.
This was a Wedding Shower card that I made for a young cousin of my husband...She is quite the modern young lady - quite the professional - and is getting married. The theme of her shower was Nautical - so you say, YEP! you missed the theme BUT wait not quite--- the blue is the background and the wonderful part of any card is that it has an inside and an out....so inside the card I stamped a beach chair and ocean front --- as well as a nautical knot - so when they tie the Knot - kinda theme....it really came out quite nice and looks better IRL -- but you get the idea.....
Just some layering, and EF and some pretty embellishments and here we are.....
Lace, pleated ribbon, organza rosette ribbon - a blue ZVA pearl flourish - and a flower by Petaloo flower -

Gorgeous!!! The lace and embossing make the card!! Love, love, love the embossing!! I'm going right to my LSS vendor to see if it's carried there. Beautiful lace too!
Actually, I think Art Deco over modern!

Beautiful. I don't think you missed the theme at all. The background folder looks like waves and the lace reminds me of the foam as they splash onto the beach. Perfect as far as I am concerned...and totally stunningly gorgeous!

Incredibly beautiful! Love the textures and the rings tied into your blooms, and your vintage-delish dreamy lace. Very touching!
