Hello. I did this for the nostalgia tech. today. I used plain white card stock. I drew an oval by using an old template, then cut it out with scallop scissors. Those can hide a multitude of cutting sins! I put my scalloped oval in the center and sponged around it. I first sponged with rose red, and then regal rose. I 2 step stamped with an old SU! set in rose red and regal rose. Then I went around my scallop with a pink gel pen and added pink gel dots to the blue undergrowth. I finished by writing 'Friendship" with my gel pen and adding the lattice accents to the corners.
Fun to get back to basics.
Thanks for looking!

Geni, this is a delightful card with an old-fashioned feeling. Great layout with the oval filled with roses. I like the cross-hatching detail on 3 of the 4 corners. Pretty in pink!

Love the hand cut scallop. I had to laugh when you said the scallop scissors hide a multitude of sins - so true. The hand drawn lattice is a great finishing touch to this nostalgic card.

What a sweet card! I love your image and color choices and the "early days" details. Your comment about the scallop scissors made me laugh...I always had a hard time using those paper shapers and needed all of the forgiveness that I could get!
