This week's Ways to Use It involved using reinkers, and since all my reinkers are craft inks, I wanted to find a technique that would make use of the properites that make craft (or pigment-based) ink different from classic (or dye-based) ink; specifically, it's opacity and thickness, which makes it more like paint and allows for different colours to overlap rather than blend together. I remembered a painting that I did with my older son at an art studio where we taped a piece of paper to a spinning machine (like a turntable) and let drops of paint fall onto it while it was spinning. The paint will migrate towards the edges, making some interesting patterns. The only thing I could think of in my house that could approximate that was my food processor! So, weird as it sounds, I taped a piece of watercolour paper onto the top of the blade, closed the lid, and turned it on while I dropped blobs of reinkers onto the paper through the feed tube. Now, because the feed tube on my processor is off to the side, I couldn't get ink directly onto the centre of the paper while it was spinning, so I tried putting on a couple of blobs on the centre while the machine was stopped, put the lid back on and then turned it on- rather than spread out in a circle the ink went out in a straight line, which I didn't like as much. However, my Mum and my older son who saw it said the centre 'blobs' made it look like a clock, in a kind of strange Salvador Dali-like way! So hence the clock theme of this card. I really like the way the ink migrated on the paper while it was spinning, and especially how the different colours overlapped. It's hard to see in the photo, but there are so many neat little fine lines and details when you look at it up close. A super easy technique, and lots of fun!

Now this is really creative! This takes me back to my childhood when we came home from the amusement park with our proud creations that resembled your pattern. Great way to think outside the box.

Fascinating details of how you created this - there's dedication in pursuit of your art. I'm glad that it was so eye-catching as a thumb that I came for a closer look. I think the modern funky look is fantastic, and while I love it myself it would be a great guy card too.
And I had a giggle at your technique too . I had such outstanding customer service from Cuisinart recently that I'll definitely be buying from them again.
